We are aware of our responsibility during the slaughter process and constantly strive to apply the maximum possible care here. During unloading, in the waiting pens and in the stunning and slaughter areas, the focus is on the well-being of the animal. Pig slaughter can be done either by CO2 or electrical stunning. In our plants, we have opted for electrical stunning because the suffocation process, which causes the pig to lose consciousness during CO2 stunning, is not an option for our company. During electrical stunning, the pig loses consciousness the moment it comes into contact with the stunning tong. As we stand for transparency in our activities, it is possible to follow the slaughter process in Graz via live videos.
